Good questions

A few answers.

What operating systems does ActOne Screenplay support?

ActOne Screenplay is engineered natively for Windows 10/11 and Linux distributions. High-performance builds are available on our downloads page.

Is my writing private and stored locally?

Yes. All your screenplays, notes, character cards, and projects are stored strictly on your local machine in plain text. ActOne Screenplay does not store your creative content on external cloud servers. When using UrAI with local models (like Ollama or LM Studio), your data remains 100% on your device; when using third-party APIs like OpenAI, requests are sent directly to your configured provider using your personal API key.

How do I export my screenplay to PDF or Fountain?

Press Ctrl+P (or select File → Export) inside ActOne Screenplay. Our built-in Rust export engine generates industry-standard PDF formatted screenplays instantly.

What is the .actone file format?

An .actone file is a standard ZIP container storing your plain-text .fountain script along with workspace metadata, character cards, and notes. You can extract it using any standard zip tool anytime to access raw Fountain files.
